StudioSTL: Putting Hot Asphalt to the Test

Asphalt Ninjas had the chance of being featured on StudioSTL on Fox 2 News. Our owner, Christina, joined host Tim Ezell to talk about what makes our pothole repair process so fast, durable, and cost-effective for our customers across Missouri and Illinois.

To make things fun, we brought along a live demonstration. Christina showed Tim two asphalt “bricks” side by side, one made with store-bought cold patch and the other with professional hot asphalt. The results spoke for themselves. With just a small spoon, Tim was able to crumble the cold patch in seconds. Then came the real test. Armed with a hammer, Tim swung several times at the hot asphalt brick. Instead of falling apart, it held strong, showing the difference that professional materials and expert installation can make.

This head-to-head comparison illustrated what our customers already know: cold patch may look like a quick DIY fix, but it doesn’t last. Hot asphalt, when applied by professionals, is built to stand up to real-world wear and tear.
